Lessons From the Field #36:
As a family fiduciary your words and actions have a direct impact on your family’s future. As you watch today’s 55 seconds, you may want to ask yourself:
Successful families do not just happen, but are built one day at a time doing that which takes them ever closer to their goals.
You’ve been a child, an adult, and maybe even a parent, and in every role you’ve had people counting on you.
As a family fiduciary, your decisions will make a difference in the lives of those you love now and, quite possibly, for generations.
At some point it hits you, you have a serious job and you can do it piecemeal or strategically with purpose.
Every family leader I have worked with has had this realization and done everything they could to influence the outcome. But it doesn’t just happen.
A desired impact — like raising responsible children — takes intelligent action, such as modeling kindness, hard work, and integrity.
Yours is a position of thought, leadership, and planning. You cannot possibly do it alone.
Where do you go for guidance?
